Our Story
Born from a desire to reconnect with nature, embrace the land, and build something truly our own, Fableman’s Highland Honey represents our journey towards a more sustainable, fulfilling way of living.
Our journey together began in 2017 when Kelly may have broken a few data protection laws to track me down on Instagram after a brief office visit.
One message led to another, and before long, we were living together in Nottingham, England.
By 2022, restless with city life, we packed up our belongings, three dogs, Itsy, Yogi and Jinkx, and tortoise, Taco, into a camper van and spent eight months travelling through Spain. While the adventure was incredible, something was missing. We longed for seasons, space, and a deeper connection to nature.
I had spent a decade in the music industry as a DJ/Producer, touring the world before shifting into graphic design and brand development. My passion for storytelling and strong visual identity is the foundation of the Fableman’s brand.
Kelly, a trained actress, has starred in indie films and immersive theatre while running a children’s theatre company. She now freelances as a singing and acting coach, runs Bibbiti’s Boutique (a handmade baby clothing business), and has directed her first film, set right here in the Highlands.
You’d think we had enough creative outlets – but somehow, we’ve still found time to add beekeeping to the mix! A little chaotic? Maybe. But what’s life without a little chaos
Neither of us has crofting experience, but we knew that Swartiebank was home – a place to grow, learn, and embrace a self-sufficient lifestyle.
Beekeeping became the perfect way to nurture the land, encourage biodiversity, and build something meaningful – something that not only sustains us but gives back to the land we’ve come to love.
Every jar of honey, every story told, and every step we take on this croft reflects our passion for the land, our bees, and the Highland heritage we’re now part of.
