Fableman's Highland Honey
Fableman’s Highland Honey is a family-run honey farm based at Swartiebank House in the Scottish Highlands.
We produce pure, natural, and unpasteurised honey, harvested from the heather and wildflowers that thrive in the Caithness landscape.
Our approach is simple: work with nature, not against it. We’re committed to sustainable practices that support healthy bees, thriving biodiversity, and high-quality honey, just as nature intended.
Alongside our real-world work, Fableman’s is also home to Bear Fableman, an eccentric character who brings the croft to life through stories, musings, and observations from his journal. His tales weave together the magic of the Highlands with the everyday rhythms of beekeeping and croft life.
Whether you’re here to enjoy our honey, follow Bear’s fables, or learn more about life at the croft, everything we share is rooted in place, season, and story.
Fableman’s isn’t built for uniformity. It’s built slowly, with care – shaped by the land, the bees, and the rhythms of the Highlands.
Here, you’ll find honest honey, thoughtful craft, a touch of whimsical storytelling, and a genuine connection to where it all comes from.
“Welcome, friend. Sit a while. This is Highland honey – made slowly, shared kindly.”
An eccentric, gentlemanly storyteller and the heart of Fableman’s Highland Honey, Bear’s whimsical tales offer a glimpse into life on the croft, where nature, tradition, and beekeeping intertwine.
Through charming journal entries and beautifully illustrated stories, he shares his adventures, observations, and peculiar wisdom – connecting you to the land, the bees, and the magic of the Highlands.
